Now hiring — Field Operations
Traveling Superintendent
Commercial Construction • Nationwide
We build the spaces where people shop, eat, and gather. As a growing commercial construction management firm, we specialize in ground-up and tenant improvement projects for national retail and restaurant brands — and we're looking for a seasoned superintendent who knows what it takes to open on time and on brand.
What you'll do
- Lead field operations on projects ranging from $50K to $10M, coordinating directly with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, landlords, and brand representatives.
- Drive project schedules, long-lead logs, and subcontractor phasing — with a sharp eye on the grand opening date.
- Set up and manage jobsite facilities: trailers, utilities, temporary power, and access — keeping the site safe, secure, and operationally ready.
- Run regular safety meetings and enforce OSHA standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate between contract documents, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve conflicts early — before they become schedule impacts.
- Lead quality inspections, own punch list execution, and manage the full project close-out process through certificate of occupancy and client turnover.
- Manage and develop field personnel — providing direction, feedback, and real-time coaching on site.
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation throughout construction.
What you bring
- 5+ years of commercial superintendent experience, with a preference for retail, restaurant, or other tenant improvement work in occupied or active-use environments.
- A track record of hitting opening dates — you understand the downstream consequences of schedule slippage for retail and restaurant clients.
- Hands-on familiarity with brand standards, landlord coordination, and the approvals process common in national rollout programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills — you're comfortable presenting to ownership groups, design teams, and field crews in the same day.
- Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools.
- Willingness to travel and work extended assignments away from home — this role is built for someone who thrives on the road.
- A self-directed, problem-first mentality — you identify issues before they become RFIs and resolve conflicts before they hit the schedule.
Physical requirements
- Ability to work in varying weather and outdoor conditions at active construction sites.
- Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs and performing physical tasks including climbing, bending, and stooping.
- Proficiency operating standard business and field equipment (computers, phones, measuring tools).
Compensation & benefits
- Exempt salary — competitive DOE
- Per diem for all out-of-town travel
- Medical, dental, vision & life insurance
- 401(k) with employer match
